The Press talks about Ever Estudio

M Audio Magazine - 2013

Ever Estudio’s philosophy is largely inspired by Chinese philosophy and cosmology, explains Hubert MONTOYA. It is based on this notion of complementarity, specific to Eastern thought, which more readily envisages duality in the form of complementarity. Wishing to extend this reflection, we wanted to imagine an essentially hybrid creation space, in perfect balance, bringing together the best of both worlds: analog and digital! Based in Paris and headed by Michel DELUC, the research unit of the Amadeus brand has been dedicated for more than 20 years to developing exclusive, functional sound works for a varied clientele, in particular made up of places dedicated to production, recording and sound mixing. As part of the Ever Estudio project, Michel DELUC designed the acoustics of the different spaces as well as a tailor-made stereophonic monitoring system for the main control room, embedded and adapted to the specifications of the place, both aesthetically and sound.

Most of the acoustic work was done before the actual design of the speakers. This department of scientific research and conceptualization is fundamental within our brand, explains Michel DELUC. We have not counted the signatures and collaborations for more than 20 years, but some remain remarkable, both for the complexity of the problems posed and for the quality of the solutions proposed.

Testimonials from sound engineers: I come to Ever Estudio for the precision and balance of the acoustics. The big plays developed by Amadeus are simply fabulous. adds Jim POITEVIN (Michel JONASZ, Alain CHAMFORT…), who recently mixed many projects at Ever Estudio – notably the next album by singer Michel JONASZ, but also the musical TV shows “Hier Encore”, recorded at the Olympia, with artists such as Patrick BRUEL, Tal, Charles AZNAVOUR, Lara FABIAN, Andrea BOCELLI, Anggun, Pascal OBISPO and many other stars. Co-produced by Charles AZNAVOUR, these programs were broadcast on France 2.

Léonard RAPONI, artistic producer, arranger and musical coordinator (Gilbert BÉCAUD, Sheila, Charles AZNAVOUR, Michel DELPECH, Richard CLAYDERMAN…) says: “I discovered Ever Estudio, equipped Amadeus monitoring. The few projects I have done in this studio have reconciled me to heavy listening, which is usually flattering and tiring. These offer tremendous definition and real precision of the spectrum, from bottom to top, even at 70 dB! They are really comfortable for all styles of music. Amazing, these Amadeus!

Revealing the genesis of Ever Estudio monitors, Michel DELUC explains: “It took us a lot of time and extensive experimentation to find the most appropriate construction technique, extremely complex, the result of the quality of the materials used, the integrated transducers, combined with the know-how of our teams. Each monitoring system is built around a unique internal reinforcement structure, favoring the neutralization of standing waves and eliminating the loss of energy of vibrational origin. The multilayer sets forming the walls of the acoustic enclosures subtly combine different woods, modified high-density bitumen, elastomers (polymers) and mineral-based elements. »

The choice of transducers was made with care: “Each system incorporates a 1-inch dome tweeter, whose cone is made of 99% pure beryllium and accommodates a suspension oversized peripheral, aimed at improving the perception of transients and other sound micro-details; the midrange is entrusted to a 76 mm (3 inch) diameter ATC driver, combining high sensitivity and extremely low distortion; the woofer is a TAD model 38 cm (15 inches) in diameter, with direct radiation and bass-reflex loading, whose conical membrane is able to withstand very high levels of travel, without any deformation”, specifies Michel DELUC. “The frequency response of the monitor extends from 28 Hz to 30 kHz,” continues Michel DELUC. This monitoring system is tri-amplified thanks to a proprietary amplification section. This PPM-PWM fixed-frequency Class D amplification benefits from a very high-efficiency switching power supply fitted with a PFC system for automatic adaptation to the various mains voltages and frequencies. The system includes a digital filtering module which manages the following parameters: system equalization, time alignment between the different sections, limiter adjustment, thermal protection of the transducers…
